Okay, I've read so many threads on this that the search function unearthed...

My question is simple, what is the recommended gear oil for the M5 3.8 gearbox?

I've read some previous thread that suggested ATF Automatic Transmission Fluid should be used?? This confuses me seeing as the M5 is a manual gearbox!

Though having said that I see that the manual refers to ATF gearoil...

I was intending to purchase Redline MTF 75W90. Should I change this to Redline D4 synthetic ATF?

Rich confused ?!>!>?

Edit. i see the D4 ATF is called Automatic/Manual Transmission/Transaxle Fluid. So is this the stuff rather thatn MTL. The MTL is recommended in BMWs apparently...

ATF.

Most Getrags have the label on the clutch bellhousing to match.
