Was browsing listings, as I am wont to do, and came across a sad sight. :crying

When I was first looking to enter the E34 M5 game, this imported euro market car came across BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-bmw-m5-3/ Had major regret not bidding more aggressively after it sold at $16k (I stopped at 14). Looked like a nice example, good color combo with Macao over anthracite M-cloth, particularly rare stateside.

Looks like she had an engine fire, that extended at least to the dash, and was recently sold at salvage auction. The pictures are still up on Hemmings: https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/bmw/m5/2262613.html

Anyone here get it? Wonder how extensive the damage truly is.

not seeing the Hemmings ad now but wow, looked like a nice car. Too bad. Wonder if it was engine or heater blower fire?

Found the salvage auction pics via google. Judging by the paint loss on the hood I would guess engine as the source.

Looking for any help I can get to put her back on the road soon. Truly an amazing documented car with all service records & original purchase contract still with the car
