mods, if this is inappropriate in some way feel free to delete. i've seen some other non-m5 stuff listed here and at least this is a 'machine' with wheels and tires on it and it's been posted in action on the board........:1:

anyway, in case there are any mtn bikers out there, i'm selling my 05 s works stumpjumper fsr. large black anodized frame size. the bike is basically stock (mavic crossmax sl wheelset, xtr drivetrain, fox talas rlc fork, septune rear shock, thomson seatpost and stem, etc.). the only non-stock items are an easton monkeybar carbon lo rise bar, wtb laser v saddle and continental vertical protection tires.

the bike is in very, very good shape, ridden but not abused. i'm an older rider who has no desire to leave the ground when riding. i bought the bike new as a leftover in early 2006 so it has two of 'my' seasons on it. this means during the dry season (i don't like muddy riding) a short ride during the week after work when i'm not travelling, usually in the regional park across the street from my house, and probably 2 longer rides a month on the weekends. the bike has been ridden in tahoe a couple of times, auburn a few times, annadel in santa rosa a few times...you get the picture, normal xc riding with no racing. i'm reasonbly known over at the mtbr norcal board and try to keep my stuff in good shape. i've never had an issue with the bike (other than adjusting the brakes when they rub and adjustments to shifter cables), clean it frequently and lube the chain before almost every ride. there are some very small cosmetics scratches on the anodized frame from rocks being thrown up, on the crank arms from my shoes and some scrapes on the crank bottoms, but nothing otherwise. no real stories.

attached are a few pix of the bike after a quick clean. the bike just got back from a tune and is running perfectly in addition to looking great. i have the high res versions if you are interested, these are tiny pix from my local cl ad. the bike had an original list price of $5500, mine is for sale for $2100. happy to answer any and all questions. thanks for looking.

Sounds great - we have been riding in Mill Valley lately, an 1100 ft climb to a restaurant on top - food is not very good, but the iced tea and the views are quite nice. Then a fun descent to the car.

We'd love to see some new areas, though - we're relatively new to the area and especially the biking scene.

i'm part of a very large mtn bike community in the bay area. great guys and gals, there are group rides literally multiple times every week. depends on what you like, how far you want to go, and of course what the skill level is...

i'd be happy to show you a few rides, are you and your wife are relatively new to mtn biking or are you guys hammerheads who will kick my butt......i'm indifferent, ride with both.....

I'm an early 80's BMX racer, new to Mtn, and it still feels wierd in terms of body position and suspension, but I can probably still hang with good riders - only one way to find out I guess...

My wife has great endurance but not much skill yet (don't get me in trouble), but she's not around this weekend anyway.

i'm not around this weekend either....

if you guys wanted to do a beautiful ride, not challenging except for a lot of long climbs (fireroad), let's ride in the headlands. not a favorite of the hammerhead group, but great exercise and you can ride to the beach...also i should take you to china camp, some really fun singletrack there...good rides to figure out where you are before going to some of the more technical rides in the area...

it's funny, if this wasn't my post, the op would be complaining about thread hijacking...

Never tried the headlands - I have been to China Camp once, via Locust Ave entrance in San Rafael - definitely a good spot for me especially, but fireroads and climbs are best when I'm riding with my better half. Let's keep in touch via PM or e-mail and try to do a ride sometime.

At least your thread has stayed at the top, and all of this talk of riding may push someone over the edge to buy a sweet bike!

i have a couple of people who want to take a look as early as this afternoon from my cl ad...we'll see. selling a used bike is almost as tough as selling a used m5 is these days!

keep in touch.
