There is one advantage to having the V1 high up on the windshield, better range. I realize the lights at night attract attention from behind, but I have had cars following me that got pulled over because I had the warning and slowed and they didn't. I guess you could call them the decoy. I have also experienced this when they passed me with radar ahead.
