where do you mount the rear radar sensor? for some reason the 1 i have was installed behind the rear bumper and it states do not install behind platstic? why it was installed like this i don't know but i'd like to fix it.thanks:M5launch:

what brand radar do you have, i know the K40 ones you can mount behind plastic, its metal you have to stay away from.

I am using the K40 and I love it. Totaly hidden front and rear. The front is looking through a 'window' thru the aluminum bumper but behind the plastic skin.

yeah I actually sell K40 and install them all the time.. but the V1 craze and the steath one adapter for the cluster is kinda cool. I do love K40 and the way you can hide the whole install . the one thing that bothers me about the v1 is that its not hidden, i do have one question though for those with V1 and the dash adapter, does the V1 still illuminate and light up even though you have the signal and status on the dash?

With either the Valentine remote display or the Stealth One the V1 is kept 'dark'...

My thinking is the red lights up high on the window is an invitation to hassles- no matter what your speed.

The audio warning still comes from the v1 and it took a few days to break the habit and look at the dash and not the v1

wish there was a way to completely make it go black and quiet so just the cluster would react , i guess that would take some unsoldering or leds and speaker in the v1 which im not sure i would like to do to a 400 window mount.

Just turn volume down for quiet (although I use the sound to alert me ).......... :cheers:

So no one has figured out a way to remote the Valentine sensors like the K40?

Seems stupid to have it attached to the window and go thru the display on dash...what a waste of a possibly killer setup.

Agree 100 % , I would love to see what V1 has to offer but im really not liking the idea of having it in the window. but the cluster and nav display is a great invention! im really leaning towards a K40 again

There is one advantage to having the V1 high up on the windshield, better range. I realize the lights at night attract attention from behind, but I have had cars following me that got pulled over because I had the warning and slowed and they didn't. I guess you could call them the decoy. I have also experienced this when they passed me with radar ahead.
