1) Where is the best place to purchase and why?

2) Have you ever had the SES light come on as a result?

3) Can the dealer install them and typically how much for installation?

4) How is there an increase in HP and torque aside from the weight difference from stock?

Thanks in advance.

1) Where is the best place to purchase and why?
:blabla: I got mine through Wide World of Cars, Spring Valley, NY. They arranged for drop shipment right to my house!

2) Have you ever had the SES light come on as a result?
:blabla: Never had the SES light come on!

3) Can the dealer install them and typically how much for installation?
:blabla: I installed mine myself, except I could not get the forward pipe clamps tight enough (broke the bolts twice). I had my local dealer (BMW of Sterling) weld those two connections completly ($500). All is tight now!

4) How is there an increase in HP and torque aside from the weight difference from stock?
:blabla: I did other mods at the same time, no meaningful dyno results. However the sound is the best!

Good Luck

When I had mine installed, I already had IATS, AA CAI and the PowerChip Gold 91 software. After the Tubi install, I noticed a seat of the pants difference and of course the sound is awesome. PowerChip has a software version that was tuned for the Tubi. When I updated to that version, the car pulled much harder. I never put the car on the dyno. No SES lights. System was installed by an enthusiast at a dealer. :M5launch: :byebye:
I would purchase the exhaust from Daniel at Beastpower... http://www.beastpower.com/. Daniel has provided countless members on this board, including myself, with great service and great prices-- he was really a pleasure to do business with.
For outside USA Scuderia Systems selels Tubi:

1) Got mine from Daniel at Beastpower. He used to be a sponsor and for some reason left and started his own bulletin board.. still scratching my head as to why. I think he took M5Kid with him. But seriously, there's no competition to m5board.com!! Why even try?

2) No SES due to the Tubi..

3) Got mine installed by the local exhaust specialist (who listened to me and modified the system so that it wouldn't stick out of the valence so far) and it came to $100. Do a search for my thread and it should be in there.. called "My modified Tubi install" or something like that.

4) I wouldn't be a good source to ask because I had a faulty CPS robbing me of power after the exhaust was installed.. then I got the MAFS replaced. NOW it's driving like a bat out of hell, but I'm not sure how much of that is due to the Tubi. It is definitely a lot lighter, to say the least.

The sound just keeps getting better and better. I've put about 12,000 miles on it and it's just wonderful. My favorite is how it sounds around town after travelling on the highway for a while.

Anzir - Thanks and a question - I do not know of any exhaust specialists - or should I say, I don't know a good one from a bad one so, after reading of the modifications that had to be done on the install (3 hrs worth) - I am now hesitant to do this

I mean, can a Midas shop handle it correctly? - my dealer? - obviously, this is not a simple "bolt on" as advertised by Beastpower .

Give me your thoughts or other members that have had difficulty with the install please.

Thanks again guys.
Trank,

Your dealer might be willing to do the job-- mine was, but they quoted me 4 hrs labor, and their rate was a bit steep. In the end, I had Turner Motorsport install my exhaust because I felt I could trust their reputation and experience. They ended up taking 3 hrs to do the job.

You might well find a Midas shop that you could trust, but I'd be inclined look for a shop that regularly does exhaust work on higher end cars. I would think being in NC you're right in the middle of "race country", and that finding a good speed shop would be easy. If not, I am sure some of the board members down your way would be happy to recommend a quality shop.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
It should be pretty straightforward to find an exhaust shop. I would suggest against Midas etc., and most dealerships won't touch this kind of install. If you don't mind the exhaust protrusion, then it should be more of a bolt-on than if you try to modify it. My suggestion would be to print out the posts with the instructions and take it with you to whatever shop you choose, then see if they would be willing to try.
1) Where is the best place to purchase and why?
Beastpower. Price was right. Beastpower was forum sponsor at the time.

2) Have you ever had the SES light come on as a result?
I think so. One of the clamps had worked loose. I tightened it and the SES light went away.

3) Can the dealer install them and typically how much for installation?
Yes, any competent shop "can" install them. Whether they "will" or not is up to the shop. Some dealers won't install aftermarket parts. Some will. I had mine installed by an independent shop. If I had to do it again, I'd go to a muffler specialist. I paid 3 hrs. for installation. A bit steep. Later as explained by an experienced Tubi installer, "they're Italian", so theyl take some modifying. On mine, the forward support bracket was too far forward, so that took some fixing.

4) How is there an increase in HP and torque aside from the weight difference from stock? It's lighter by about 50 pounds It's hard to tell if there is any HP increase or not, but I didn't buy it expecting anything dramatic.
