Well i just removed mine. My car is a 02/00 build date and it had a CDV. i would advice everyone to take a peek under the car just to be sure.

Can you provide info or photo on where to look and what this thing looks like?

Or what would be the difference in clutch feel / indication if we think one is installed?

scope out uuc's website under the tech info, and they show a pic of the cdv and its application on an e36 m3. it is the same concept, but even on their site it says is applies to E39's, but not m5's...

Here's info from one of our resident expert Mr. Dave Zeckhausen:

You beat me by 4 minutes on posting his site...very informative! E39's have them. M5 does not...according to the site. RealOEM.com does show one in the diagram, but does not list one for the M5...meaning it isn't included for that model.

No CDV on M5's.

Next time I have mine on the hoist I'll snap a pick of the slave just to see.

Wouldn't one notice if this was installed? Just go out and drop the clutch in first and see what happens.

With all due respect, I called him once to get a CDV bypass for my E46 and he said that they don't have them. Well, they do, and it did. Even experts make mistakes sometimes.

I guess some people owe Mike Miller an apology, huh? :)
