Manual

0-100kph: 4.8s
0-200kph: 16.3s
80-120(6th): 7.6s
fuel cons.: 13.8l
lap time: 1:35.41

M-DKG

0-100kph: 4.6s
0-200kph 15.2s
80-120(6th): 6.3s
fuel cons.: 13.0l
lap time: 1:35.11

acceleration:
the bmw M3 is already fast, but with the dkg its faster. the dkg adds 20 additional kg to the car, but you feel non of them. the gear-ratios were improved and the acceleration doesnt stop while shifting => it is, and it feels faster

Handling: the dkg shifts lightningfast and it´s very smart. using the D-Mode is very comfortable. The 6MT is also very smooth, but compared to the dkg a bit "old fashion" nearly annoying.

Fuel ecconomy: by the better gearratio the ecconomy is increased from 13,8 ( autobild-testresult) to 13,0 ( also autobild-testresult).
the higher weight doesnt really count (20kg).

conclusion:
Well Done, BMW! the DKG is a success. Great without "but" and "if". We were dainty searching for cons, but didnt found them. There is no need for getting used to it, it is comfortable, shifts comfortable, and if required by the driver, also very hard( german "hart", means also racy). And it has a better fuel ecconomy. Therefor: more of this in other models!

probably depends on the track. Sportauto think they can cut the laptime with a couple of seconds on N-ring with DCT.

Thanks for the post. I was waiting for this information.
0-200 km/h a whole second faster!

I am wondering if DKG can handle additional power from engine tuning.

Do you know if DKG is strong enough to handle extra power? Is it as strong as the 6 speed manual?

Maybe a repost:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/112_0806_2008_bmw_m3_dct_first_drive/index.html

Our track-test numbers tell the story: The DCT car is a tenth of a second slower than the regular six-speed manual version to 30 mph, even to 40 mph, and then it's all over. Zip to 60 mph in the M3 DCT takes 4.1 sec, two tenths quicker than in the stick version, and by 100 mph,the gap has stretched to four tenths of a second. The standing quarter mile comes up in 12.6 sec at 113.2 mph versus 12.7 sec at 111.3 mph.
