So caught a break to nip off from work and take some pics up Mullholland Dr.

Specification is in my sig. I've already got her up to 3,100 miles and it's been little over 3 weeks.

I've had fast Audis, Mercs and a 996TT but this is the best car I've ever owned and the only time I haven't thought, "is this really worth it?", after writing the check.

So accelerative, such sorted handling and great looking.

I just got my Black/Black 08 about 4 weeks ago, but you have double the miles I do! Congrats on the ride, obviously I approve of the color! haha.

Congratulations, they are fun aren't they? Did you remove your charcoal filters yet?

Thanks a lot for the kind words guys.

This car is quite simply "a four door Ferrari." Handling, braking acceleration...yet blends in seamlessly with the rush hour traffic. Consummate is the most apt word I can think of and no wonder we're always the benchmark in comparison tests.

Further praise must go to the suspension-utterly sorted.

I haven't touched the charcoal filters yet. Read the link but may leave it for a little while longer.

No harm in leaving them in for longer.

But if you feel uneasy about the removal process, feel free to stop by, we'll be glad to give you a hand.

Do you have an L.A. location? I may well take you up on that offer if so as I'm not exactly a DIY expert

Congrats on the vehicle. I get so jealous everytime I see a black M5. Argh. I definitely should have ordered that color.

I love my black, but it can be unforgiving and the upkeep/frequent baths to keep it looking good can be a PITA. I find myself wondering if I should go silver next time, as I think silver or gray are also awesome colors for the M5. :dunno:

Congrats; I have nearly the same setup but don't have the perf and have a 6 spd. When you get the modding itch I would definitely get the front kidney grills painted to the body color (surrounding frame) and the inards (slots) of said grill in a matte black finish. I did the gills too (2 outer railings; body color but left the slots in the matte finish)

Along with the charcoal filter removal, fully dechroming like you have done is the only other modding I'm tempted by. What did it cost, if I may ask?

Also, are you tempted to get the pipes done matte black like Audi offers?

Thanks again guys for the compliments. The excitement is showing no signs of wearing off.

Dirt in regards to the cost of the paint job; it shouldn't cost you more than 100 usd. Anything over that and they're jerking you off!

In regards to the tips; uhhhhhh phuck yeah!!! I'm lookin for a shop in NYC to do them. Congrats again! "Great minds think alike"

You don't have to be an expert. You don't really even have to be handy. If you have have an IQ over 100 (and I would bet you do by a wide margin) this is a piece of cake. Of course, if RPI is offering. . . then again, I would bet dollars to donuts that you come home with the scoops!

p.s. with the price of donuts today, I gues that should be "bet donuts to dollars".
