Have a buddy that just found this car on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-...012QQitemZ220215013217QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

This seems to be a REALLY nice combo (I'd buy it myself if my wife wouldn't notice that my car changed color) and in great shape, but photos lie. If anyone is willing to take a quick look to see if they would be willing to buy it themselves -or- any G2 on this dealership, I would appreciate the help! Given it passes this board's approval, my buddy is willing to hop on a plane this weekend, TIA-- KH

It's not a 'dealership', it's a used car lot with a roof. Something is making me go hmmm....

Run the VIN at a BMW dealer and find out what the service history has been. You can decode the dealer number and find out where it has been- even call the dealer and try to get info.

Good Luck to you buddy

I talked to John(salesman listed for this car) for a good while 3/26. He said he would have bought the car except he bought a 540 a few months ago.

What he said:

Car is clean.
Clean Carfax.
No accidents.
There is a black smudge on the right rear lower bumper that can be buffed out.
Front bumper is clean.
PS2's are in good shape.
Right side wheels have marks where tires were mounted up.
Aftermarket warranty available at around $3500.
Financing:credit score of 800+around 7.99%

Nice car and I too like the color combo but a foot fracture and surgery today will keep me from the drive from Dallas to H-town(about 250mi.) Best of luck to someone out there.:M5rev:

I did the same thing.....HHHHHMMMMMMMMM??????????

They are selling 250-300 cars a month is what John Pham told me yesterday.

I have approached a few dealers with questions and was met with a stern resistance because of privacy laws.

Go to bimmerforums 'ask a dealer' they'll run the vin. There is no personal data in the BMW service history- dealer misinformation.

PS "He would have bought this except he bought a 540 a few months ago"???? They're selling 10 cars A DAY... he could dump his 540 in mere minutes. Typical salesman BS

Thanks to rhouse, looks like we are good to have a fly-by to take a look at this car! Thanks to the other replies as well, I do appreciate the willingness to help a "stranger" . . .

For random acts of kindness, looks like I need to pay it forward . . . Thanks again, KH

This one kind of peaked my interest as well. Not to buy, 5 Bimmers are enough right now, and I'm not crazy over white. But I ran a carfax on it anyway and this is what it said:

I will try to swing by this weekend. Nexxes sells a lot of high end cars. A couple of guys i know bought from them and were happy. They are known for resonable prices and good quality. I am not sure where they get their cars, but i have seen some pretty cool ones on their lot.

Just saw this actual thread. I got PM'ed about it by Flyin-M5 and I responded. I actually work right on the other side of the freeway from the dealership and was willing to take a look at it.

Hopefully all works out well. Love the Alpine White...not biased or anything lol.

+1 That loan interest rate is terrible. Gosh, banks can borrow today for what...about 2%? If a car has a black mark on it that will "buff out" then why don't they buff it out? I paid about $2300 for a premium extended warrantee. What is so attractive about this particular vehicle? 54K is not low miles for a 2002 and the color inside and out is about as plain jane as you can get. I don't see traveling for this car. It isn't rare or unusual in any way that I can see, but YMMV. Price is definitely right, but that's likely a reflection on the car being white and beige. Not a hot color combo.

The dealer purchased THIS SPECIFIC BMW car from Manheim Dallas Dealer Auction on 3/11/08. The selling price at the Auction was 24,250 (so you know how much he is making on it)

The condition was said to be "average" on the car at the auction, thought it was one of the more expensive '02 M5's sold in the "average" condition range of 02' M5's w/ same miles, maybe because it is white.

I am looking for a M5 and I pretty much have kept track of every M5 sold on autotrader / any US auction in the last 3 months.

I suggest you call the dealer and argue out a 25,000-26,000 price w/ dealer, considering towing fees and auction purchase fees...

The car had no major mechanical defects shown at Auction Condition Report that would turn me off from buying this car. It was overall good shape.

At time of sale the car had 54,392 miles. It has not been driven very far since then.

The other BMW's selling at Manheim Auctions are right now:

2002 M5 Silver
VIN: WBSDE934X2CF90100
Manheim Seattle Auction
It's a dealer selling the vehicle, he wants to get rid of it because he can't sell it at his lot.
I'm sure you'll find this car on Autotrader.
71,900 Miles.
The Market Report @ auction says at it should go for
Max: 24,600
Average: 20,100
Below: 15,700

That said I'd suggest you do not want to buy this car, it is about 70 hours of professional labor to repair this car, that said @ a rate of 150 USD per hour, that is about 10,000, the car should not go for more than 20,000 USD at the auction.

Car is in very nice shape. But is also a dealer car, dealer can't get rid so he is selling at auction.

===========

The black M5 should be put on black list of cars to watch out for and not to buy, including the BMW in New Jersey that blew out the engine.

WE NEED TO CREATE A BLACK LIST OF BAD M5's THAT SHOULD NOT BE PURCHASED BY ANYONE!! TROUBLE MACHINES.

If you wanna buy these cars, i suggest you go to a local dealer, and agree for him to purchase the car for a fee at that auction / run time, around $600, then you arrange shipping etc..
Most dealers in USA have access to Manheim Simulcast, which lets you remotely bid on a vehicle.

Just for kicks, I happen to be looking at cars in my area and there is a small car sale shop (Elite Motors) right down the street from where I work.

This Black M5 looks like it may have just arrived there. No pictures on the site yet.

Black M5 at Elite Motors link.

When ever I drive by this place, they have a lot of cars on the lot. Lately, they have had tons of BMWs on the lot. It is almost like it was the season for BMWs in this neck of the woods in preparation for Spring or something.

I have seen at least three M5s come and go from this place. Most recently was a Titanium Silver M5.
