[email protected] I know you're out there somewhere :byee55amg. Simon......some questions on your Stage 2 ECU Software Upgrade:

-EvoSport Stage 2 software is due out when?

-The EvoSport Stage 2 software will deal with the “CEL” warning light matter than stems from the primary cats being removed
during the EvoSport header installation?

-The EvoSport Stage 2 software upgrade will do some performance “sharpening”?

-Do you have a list of the things that “Stage 2” will do?
-
Example: Removes the top speed governor?
-Example: Allows for a few hundred more turns @ red line?

On the software installation:
-We remove the ECU board and send it to EvoSport. Correct?

-EvoSport flashes the upgrade onto our ECU, and they ship it back to us. Correct?

-We reinstall the ECU. Correct?

-Will EvoSport be providing instructions on the R & R of the ECU?

-If the ECU needs to have the EvoSport Stage 2 software re-flashed, say in the event of a BMW dealer flashing a factory upgrade onto the ECU......EvoSport charges a one-time $75 fee for that re-flash. Correct?

Care to add anything? THANKS in advance Simon!

Tom- once again, you've tracked me down. :byee55amg

-EvoSport Stage 2 software is due out when?

We're hoping to release it in about 3 weeks.

-The EvoSport Stage 2 software will deal with the “CEL” warning light matter than stems from the primary cats being removed
during the EvoSport header installation?

Correct. It will turn off the CEL condition resulting from the rear O2 sensors showing a cat inefficiency due to deletion of the primary cats.

-The EvoSport Stage 2 software upgrade will do some performance “sharpening”?

Stage 2 will include everything that Stage 1 includes (see below), so yes. Remember on a STOCK car there is negligible gains from anyone's software. Those gains may be better realized with the addition of some mods.

-Do you have a list of the things that “Stage 2” will do?

While I can't tell you everything stage 2 will do until it's finalized, some of the things it will do will be: remove Vmax (top speed), enhance throttle response (P400, P500 & P500S), alter fuel trim to accomodate header addition, potentially raise rev limiter if customer so chooses, delete rear O2 CEL.

On the software installation:
-We remove the ECU board and send it to EvoSport. Correct?

Correct.

-EvoSport flashes the upgrade onto our ECU, and they ship it back to us. Correct?

Correct.

-We reinstall the ECU. Correct?

Correct.

-Will EvoSport be providing instructions on the R & R of the ECU?

Only to make your mechanic happy...again :grinyes:

-If the ECU needs to have the EvoSport Stage 2 software re-flashed, say in the event of a BMW dealer flashing a factory upgrade onto the ECU......EvoSport charges a one-time $75 fee for that re-flash. Correct?

Once you purchase the software once, you will not need to purchase it again in the event that your ECU gets re-flashed by the dealer or if we introduce an enhancement to the software, or if we release an update to add an Intake System, if a flash is required. There is a $75 re-flash fee, plus any applicable shipping costs of the DME. If, in some slim cases, where there is a Stage 3 that is more expensive than Stage 2, you would pay the difference.

Care to add anything?

We always recommend that you have the dealer update your car to the latest software version prior to having your ECU flashed. This ensures you have the latest firmware in addition to the enhancements.

Stage 1 software is $990. No official pricing has been set yet for Stage 2.

:3: Actually he turned out to be pretty easy to keep happy.....A little more on the R&R of the ECU:

Is this something that is "obviously" easy? Meaning is it something to the effect of "Find the box, remove the cover, unplug the plugs, then remove the board"? .....is the R&R of the ECU easy for most any technician?

Three weeks and counting :p
