I am happy to announce the offical product launch for ESS E60 M5 and ESS E63 M6 Performance software.

From the site:
ESS Normal Aspiration optimized ECU software is a result of 100''s of dyno runs and exact calibration of all parameters to allow maximum performance gains with improved driveability/fuel consumption and stock engine longevity.

Link: http://www.esstuning.com/default.asp?c=shop&cat=93&subcat=226&subcat2=266&id=

Features :

-8400RPM limit (8500RPM optional)
-Removed top speed governor
-Reprogrammed torque management
-Reprogrammed throttle response
-Reprogrammed ignition, vanos and fuel parameters for optimum operation

The software is compatible with performance cat-back exhaust systems. Header software available upon request.

Software available for both US and European specification cars.

Typcal performance increase is +10hp and 10ft/lbs of torque with software alone.

When you order this product, you will receive information on how to remove your ECU for shipment to a ESS reprogramming center near you.

More info:
The BMW DME’s are extremely complex computers. Two processors, and the ability to perform millions of operations per second keep that V10 roaring past 8000rpm. For this reason you want to go with an ECU upgrade that retains factory reliability, while increasing horsepower and torque the RIGHT way, rather than through the use of piggyback systems that trick the cars DME, or tuners that simply increase the timing.

ESS actually has the expertise to remap many portions of the ECU for better drivability and performance, without a sacrifice to reliability at all.

After this software was installed in my car, I immediately felt a huge difference in performance. Most of all, the car is much smoother than before. It really changed the characteristics of the motor for the better. The shift actions from the SMG transmission are much smoother and crisper. The car became faster and faster as the ECU adapted over the first 1000 miles.

ESS also offers custom programming based on current/future modifications.

The price on the website is US $1295. However, we are offering a special through M5board only for $1149!! Please PM me if you are interested or if you have any questions.

Thanks for looking and happy motoring. :M5rev:

Please read my first post. It explains the benefits from the remap. As far as exhaust, my personal preference is Dinan.

Thanks Mike for showing me your M5

Hey guys, I just met Mike today, I actually went for a spin in his M5. I wanted to hear what his exhaust sounds like in person. He's got couple of the must have mods: RPI scoops, charcoal filter removal, Dinan exhaust and ESS tuning... I also have the RPI scoops, and removed the filters. I wanted to hear Dinan in person, as hearing online is not always reliable in my opinion. I must say it sounds truly amazing. If anyone is looking for an exhaust that is not over the top, but yet when you hit the gas you can hear your baby purr, then Dinan is the way to go. I'm getting one for sure :biggrinbounce:. I must say his M5 is a true rocket compared to mine. It must be the exhaust and ESS that really gives his car the extra juice, because his car felt soooooo much faster, & so much more responsive, in P500 Sport mode. His car has this "aggressive" feel , it really felt as fast as my buddies 997 turbo! After going on a little drive (near 100mph and being called as#hole by some guy in an suv that we flew by :M5launch:) I think I'm ready to add the exhaust and the ess tuning to my car.

Again Mike thanks for taking the time to show your M5

It was great meeting you! Holler at me when you want the next rollercoaster ride. :checkeredflag:

I enjoyed punching the gas next to the guy in the SUV after he was name calling. That'll show him!

Group buy on ESS software will be introduced soon, for a limited time. Just FYI for everyone.

If you would like a ride to see how the car responds with ESS software, feel free to PM me and I will take you out.

You will leave with an evil grin on your face.

Installed ESS software last week on my E60 and after the Vegas Run I put around 700-miles on my car and it’s finally came alive.
I currently have the following engine mods on my car: ESS Software, Evosport Pully, AA full exhaust Secondary Cat and resonator deleted, RPI intake and BMC Filters. <O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Every engine Mod gives you a little more performance but honestly to me I really didn’t feel any significant difference until I installed the ESS software. ESS has enhanced all my modification on my car and they are working to the maxim potential finally!<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Throttle response is significantly increased but that’s with most software upgrades increasing drivability. However the bottom end torque now is unbelievable feels like I just added another 50pounds of torque. Every gear pulls harder than ever feels like a totally different Machine. The car redlining at a higher RPM is also good now since I sometimes missed the shift point and hit the governor.
<O:p</O:p
Even my GF noticed the performance difference in the car driving back from Vegas since I was exhausted I woke up to her racing another M5. I told her to pull up next to him and race head to head we started around 80mph and by 130mph she was 6 car lengths ahead unbelievable!
<O:p</O:p
I was going to install headers this week, but now I’m reconsidering since my car is running like a champ don’t want to ruin the chemistry!!<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
For anybody thinking of upgrading the software ESS is my pick all the way!!
<O:p</O:p
Thanks Mike!
