with the delays, what delivery are people now being quoted for the early cars? My dealer's last guess was August....
At the risk of being classed a cynic, I'd translate that from dealer lingo to one of more veracity or probability, meaning sometime September. In any case, Victorian orders will be the first due to the ship unloading there.

Whilst it would be great to have the car tommorow, I have resigned myself to expect it in September. Just think of it........spring with a new M5!!!!!

Sorry about previous post with nothing on it. I spoke to my dealer yesterday. My car is week 29 build date. He says it will arrive Melbourne on the third week of Sept. The five cars ahead of me (all already built), will not arrive before the first week in Sept.Sounds like a lot of M5's will be arriving at roughly the same time.

Hi all,

My car was dueto be built week 17, which then became 22 (after the gearbox stuff up) and has since sat at BMW AG awaiting the oil pump.

BMW Aust are saying early Sept, but I think it will be late Sept. - -but it is so close now what the hell - how many sleeps does that make it?!

And I agree, delivery in spring would be rather nice.

Having waited since June, 2003, I can cope with a little longer - -my dealer is doing the right thing by me and put me into a nice brand spanking 503i today for one week, in the same colour as the new M5 will be (Silver Grey) and next week are putting me into a brand new X5 4.4 (this no doubt to convince my wife that 4x4's arent so bad afterall) till delivery. The neighbours must be wondering what the hell is going on?!

What dealer you ask? - Col Crawfords at Brookvale. So if you want to be treated well, give Wayne Cook a call........he is the Sale Manager(a new promotion, well deserved).

As for BMW Australia - they couldn't give a toss. Pack of *&^holes really. They viewed the whole incident as a pre-sales issue and didn't care (the problem stemming from me selling my M3 after expecting the M5 then the delay announced). If it was an 'after sales' issue, that 'ofcourse' would be different! Well they have had $10,000 of my cash for sometime now, so I think that is a litte of the pot calling the kettle black (i.e. drawing a rather long bow). In any case I have since had my valium and calmed down.......but I shan't forget, especially as I have a new X5 (7 seats) and E90 V8 M3 on order........anymore chirlish attitude and I will be over to the folk at MB or Audi.

I think I need a drink.cherrsagai

cheers,

Dave

P.S. Hey Dallas, enjoy the Brisbane drive day tomorrow........
