I have a Mbtiou5 Project build going on another thread: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e6...n/e60-m5-e61-m5-touring-discussion/211996-mbtiou5-build-thread.html#post2411608 But since I have received so many Pm's and emails regarding my build, I will now start a new thread focused only on the mods that are / will be done on my own personal headlamps. This headlamp build / mod list will include the following:

Orion v4,
Blackout eyebrows with smd LED's,
Osram 66240 4200K SVS-D2S
Illuminated / lighted fins,
Plasma H3 cornering lamps,
Custom SMD turn signals,
Quad ZKW-R lense swap
Custom color matched bezel rings
.... and a few other "custom" tricks...

This post will include pictures of how a simple headlight restoration has opened a whole can of aesthetic mod bugs!

Here are the before and afters of the restoration I did awhile back..

Paul, you coming down next weekend? I might have to pull my car out of the shop for next week and let him "exercise" :hihi: ...but just for the weekend ...
If I was free next week I would have been going to the airstrip event in Coalinga but alas I have family commitments :sad1:

Looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of your project!! If I had to make an educated guess it would be that you have Arancio Borealis AKA LAMBOR-L0E2, but the problem with guessing here, is that PPG lists 2 different paint codes for that specific color (905385 and 905385/2) Then again, I could also be completely off with my guess (there are 13 different shades of Arancio throughout the years). I would hate to be off on the color, thus my request for the specific color code :M5thumbs: I've spent the better half of tonight trying to tweak a few things on the lighted / illuminated fins.. Will have update info/pics soon for all your viewing enjoyment. "Measure twice... cut once!"

Replied to your PM....

Mbtiou5...do those LED turn signals work plug and play for our LCI cars? Or do you need to wire resisitors/coding to prevent errors?

I need up update my headlight turnsignals BAD after upgrading to LED sidemarkers and reverse lights.

The pair I picked up for this project are error free. They have built in resistors, thus the size that you see  They cost a bit more than the conventional 3457 bulbs + resistor, but my goal isn't necessarily to cut costs in this build, but more importantly to limit the amounts of extra wiring required, due to the nature of the install.. Do note that there are 2 major factors to also consider, which are the following 1) (actual bulb size/ led count) as some of the higher numbered led bulbs will not fit into thed housing without modifications 2) if you choose to use resistors, plan ahead where you will want to run the resistor pack, as they are going to be "very hot" so they cannot be mounted on or around plastic ( melted plastic / fire hazard ), not to mention excessive unsightly wires running around. Due to these factors, I always recommend just paying more and paying for the error free ones with the built in resistor...

Believe me, I'm just as ecstatic from the anticipation as everyone else, but between work, and family, in the last month, I've also managed to knock out 2 other Orion installs, one of which included the blacked out eyebrows, which is actually more work than the Orion installs themself. Even managed to squeeze in 3 sets of restoration for other members, and locals. My own set just sat here, but should be completed, sealed, and back on the car by next week at latest. Stay tuned!

So how long is it going to take till we see the finished product? Not that I need another "want" added to my list :7:

https://www.facebook.com/antcchu?ref=tn_tnmn Add me, I will update/ share more build photo's there, as I'd like to keep more pertinent info here. I am currently doing the illuminated/ lighted fins as I write this, but the headlights will be completed, sealed, restored again, and back on the car within 7-10 days. Mbtiou5 is in dire need of some exercise, pending completion of mods, but hey, I got good news! My gasoline bill has been cut down to 1/4 of what they normally cost, and I was able to duck the sudden price hikes!! Lmao...
