Don't think so, mainly because of the launch. I've heard the E60 is quicker once you're up to speed.

4 wheel drive aids in the launch . Rolling start I believe they should be about equal

If you raced at a drag strip with two professional drivers doing appropropriate rev launches the 911 turbo would edge it out by just a bit. It hits 60 in 4 flat, with the X50 power package, try 3.8 seconds. Quarter mile should be around 12 even. M5 looks at 4.5 to 60 and 12.8 through the quarter mile. My opinion is that you shouldnt be able to feel too much of a difference, aside from the fact that the turbo power spools up a little quicker than the high revving V10. But that is all in perception. :M5rev:

0-60 MPH, 911 turbo wins. I don't know if the E60 M5 can do sub-4 seconds. The 911tts ran 3.9 seconds in many tests.

1/4 miles: don't know, could be a toss-up. I believe the tts are about 12.6 seconds or so. Not much data on the M5 that I know of.

I think the E60 M5 really shines between 80 - 170 MPH range. REAL useful for us U.S. folks.
