Like all M cars from the past I think in 10 years these will be £50 to £60k in value going by todays prices and the e93 m3 will prob be same but I’m going to say it, the e46 M3 CS (ZCP) will go beyond £100k due to the low production. The new car market is in dis array and used prices are starting to really move especially on the specialist models, I hope I’m right 😂

With every modification and mile, every last thing I do to make it more for me, more used, and further ruin the resale…my smile widens and I love the car just a bit more. Gosh I hate cars as investments, buy some damn stock (I really want an air-cooled 911 someday).

Zoom zoom! I think I'll hold on to my 6 speed for a little while longer.

Air-cooleds are fun. I had two and sold them before this craze. The power delivery is very reminiscent of an s85. That said, it's fun running up on a 964 turbo on slicks, with a baby seat in the back:

I don't think you are wrong, but...I kinda don't care where the prices go on the cars I already own - I don't remember when was the last time I sold a car...:) I hope prices will stay steady on some of the ones that I still want to get!

Hi,

For the UK market - maybe the the VERY best, ultra low miled, pristine, sought after colour and optioned examples with extensive history to show big ticket jobs and preventative maintenance done will possibly actually 'sell' for £50/60 K in 2030-2033. Any examples less than that... I don't think will 'sell' for anywhere near that level.

Yes I'm one of the relative few in the enthusiast crowd that thinks actual selling prices for most M cars (and other marque fast variants of mass produced models) will gradually dip lower and lower. There's too much legislation coming on the horizon against fossil fueled cars and thus, it's likely to be Porsche and higher marques which will most likely have stronger or better actual selling prices in 10/15 + years time.

It's looking more likely that petrol prices will rise over this time frame too, perhaps £2.50 or £3/ litre? maybe more? VED can be increased any time by any government in power, an increase in Taxes for fossil fueled car parts might also happen.. the MOT charge could also be increased at any time by a government. Then there's the now looking more and more likely congestion charging zones in cities and larger towns with a daily charge to drive a fossil fueled car within it's boundaries..

Overall, driving a fossil fueled (most likely only petrol ones mainly in 10 years time!) is going to become more and more expensive which will make lots of people and enthusiasts make the switch to an electric car. Only those with deep enough pockets will continue to run a petrol and those who wish to spend more of their disposable income on a BMW (or Merc/Audi/Ford/VW and so on) for the sakes of it being a M (or RS/AMG/R etc).

Or, I might be completely wrong and petrol will reduce to £1/litre, VED will be capped at £250 and they'll invent something that removes 95+ % of all contaminants output by a petrol engine and the contolled zones in cities/towns charge only £2 per day to enter !

Cheers, Dennis!

How are we going to generate all that electrical power? Not to mention the grid and rare earth metals required for batteries and other components that are in third world countries that are seeing a heavy Chinese presence. Over time electrification will continue to grow but at the rate politicians are blindly pursuing this model without any real knowledge is criminal as they worship at the alter of climate change, folks are pushing back, just look at what happened in the Netherlands…

Easy to say for someone who has a MUSEUM of M cars! LOL
Let's see what happens when you start to run out of garage space!!!! BTW... did you close the deal on the E34? That was a while ago... my memory is failing me. LOL

Nope, didn't work out.
I am running out of room. I already have two cars parked outside cause I have no room in the garage. I think some things would have to go sooner, rather than later - unfortunately.

Interesting video that @nicko just posted above. Food for thought.I totally agree with the 'new' type of buyer for the E60 coming through (I would count myself as one of them that took this approach on the touring that I had with the engine work right away and then the manual conversion. I just sold my M5 6 spd, but I would like a 6 spd saloon at some point in the future, just to have it in the collection. Would be a terrible idea for my finances, but would be cool for the driveway memories, haha.
