E60 M5 DCT Transmission Swap

Guys the time has officially to come to take my beast to another level. I was experiencing numerous problems with my SMG transmission and I didn't like the jerkiness. I am a huge fan of the E92 M3 DCT transmission because of how instant and quick the shifts are. Not to mention the less problem it causes; the DCT on those are solid reliable transmissions. BMW did a great job with the glorious NA V10 engine but did not perfect the automated transmission. I ordered the E92 M3 DCT transmission and flywheel yesterday and will start shipment next week. The shop who is going to make this amazing build is going to be Gintani. Gintani is well-known for their supercharger and twin-turbo kits they offer for M cars. At there facility, I saw an amazing build project which was a 2010 M6 with a twin-turbo kit pushing easily over 1000+ horsepower also equipped with their DCT transmission to handle perfect with the beast. My whole build is going to take roughly a month to complete and I can't wait till the parts come in! I will update you guys every time I have new updates on this build.

Roughly month and a half. Waiting for updates.

Weren't you the guy telling me I'll be eating humble pie? Looks like you've come
Over to our side. On a serious note, I hope Dinan (if all this is legit) gets his car back the way he expects it. I know nothing about Gintani and would not badmouth a company I have never personally dealt with as far as service goes. If you're out there Dinan, how about an update since this project is something many of us are interested in. ?

I for one hope it does. Love things like this.

Let's wait and see. If it were me, I would want more updates and some pictures or video of it running etc...

Cheers

So we know:

Car is there

No evidence of progress

No pics

They have a reputation of projects not being completed

Apparently they have done this conversion a number of times yet no one has seen it

No test drive done by customer even though it works aside from paddles

Gintani also is happy to take potential customers
For a spin in other customer cars?

Dinan man hasnt posted for some time

I know this swap can be done or I would not be in the midst of doing it myself but I am also not a fool and promise when it will be complete as I know it is not as easy as some think.

The only reason why it even is getting delayed is because whoever installed my CIC coded my whole car to another vehicle specifications. Meaning that the coding and programming isn't meant for my original VIN number and I paid them to code it and script activate it to my vehicle which is very upsetting that he lied and coded to a complete different vehicle. That is what is causing the hiccup; if I didn't do the CIC kit and if I had my factory CCC head unit I would've already been in my garage. I am pissed to the guy who installed my kit and supposedly he was a professional.

CIC can be an issue. I don't know how specifically. But CIC coding can happen 2 ways.
1. With your VIN
2. With donor VIN
If it's not right, you get all sorts of errors.
Don't know if that makes the car undeliverable. But it can make modules inoperative.

It wouldn't make the car undriveable. What could have happened was Gintani being careless while recoding the car and not noticing the VIN/VO mismatch between the CIC and the rest of the car. They went ahead and overwrote everything, which ended up semi-bricking the CIC because the FSCs are no longer valid. And since they have no backups, they can't recover.

I still have my doubts of this project existing or ever being complete, but if the version of events as told are true, the above is probably what happened.
