E60 M5 DCT Transmission Swap

Guys the time has officially to come to take my beast to another level. I was experiencing numerous problems with my SMG transmission and I didn't like the jerkiness. I am a huge fan of the E92 M3 DCT transmission because of how instant and quick the shifts are. Not to mention the less problem it causes; the DCT on those are solid reliable transmissions. BMW did a great job with the glorious NA V10 engine but did not perfect the automated transmission. I ordered the E92 M3 DCT transmission and flywheel yesterday and will start shipment next week. The shop who is going to make this amazing build is going to be Gintani. Gintani is well-known for their supercharger and twin-turbo kits they offer for M cars. At there facility, I saw an amazing build project which was a 2010 M6 with a twin-turbo kit pushing easily over 1000+ horsepower also equipped with their DCT transmission to handle perfect with the beast. My whole build is going to take roughly a month to complete and I can't wait till the parts come in! I will update you guys every time I have new updates on this build.

This is not quite as involved as some people say it is.

I have a feeling this car will be finished sooner than you think.

I want to see it happen but I think unless some very skilled enthusiast decides to take this on, it won't happen. I don't see a tuning company spending all this time for an extremely limited build on what is now almost a ten year old platform.
Then you will be pleasantly surprised very soon.

I'm highly skeptical of this entire thread. Short of having someone at Siemens leak the source to the ecu, I don't see how you can possibly get S85 to send the right can messages over to the transmission.

Or I guess motec the whole thing for enormous amounts of money/time.

I did some research on the coding/wiring side and the E9x M3 shifter will be required as well. It communicates over the LIN bus to the DCT mechatronics unlike SMG shifting which has direct wiring to SMG module. I'm confident this can be done as well, but I have a 6 speed S85 so hard to give that up. Super excited to see this project done!!

Don't get me wrong - I am looking forward to this working out.

I am somewhat skeptical for reasons already mentioned.

Can you post a clip of your agreement/contract with Gintani about what they will do? Redact all the $$$ numbers, timeframe numbers - just keen to see what they said they would do. Is this asking too much?

All I got to say is that all the doubters are going to get what they deserve. Gintani is the only shop that I trust for any high-end build. They are the best at what they do, they are working non-stop to ensure that everything is not just a 100% but 110%. I promise to you all that the outcome of this project is going to be amazing and truly worth the wait. Never EVER doubt Gintani with their builds. I personally cannot wait to prove all the doubters wrong. I would appreciate less negativity and more positive reactions to this project. I am also impatiently waiting for the completion of my car and know for a fact that my car is safe and sound in the hands of Gintani.

I think many people just wanted to get more solid proof like pictures or a video of the car started, etc. Its been almost 2 months since you dropped the car off, 19 pages and no pictures or videos. We are all very excited for this as you can tell :) No need for the defense, we are all here to see this happen and make sure you get it done from them as promised.

I also think people are a bit skeptical because of the history of Gintani:
