When a customer comes in to check out these cars you know that you are going to have fun and a headache.

After they take a good look and have a feel of the cars, the decision process starts, and its then when the headache arises in my head.

One of the customers just couldn't make his mind up so he bought the four of them.

We get some who buy two, and they are usually the E55 and M5.

The least one sold out of the four is the XJR. And the biggest sellers are the E55 and M5 and stuck in between is the S8.

What do you think, and which one or two would you go for?

And put them in order of first to last.

Cool.

So we do have alot of M5 owners here, right.
What colors are your M5's.

Here when a customer decides he/she wants an M5 they still got one last decision to make, which is the color.

What's your fav color on the M5.

If you add to your wish list the 2001 M3 which weighs alot less and has 330 horsepower which is 110 hp per liter and much easier to supercharge and much more manuervable vehicle and $30,000 savings then I would have to think about it but as of now dollar for dollar the M5 is on the top of the list with not much comparative competition.
I wonder what the 2002 M5 is going to do because you know everyone is heading towards the 500hp mark soon and we BMW freaks can not stand aside and let those Japanese and GM cars pass us up.

I can't see this engine becoming available until 2003 or later...the M product line is sluggish to update lately. Actually, I'm very surprised that the '01 M5's will get the '01 E39 updates. Only time will tell...

Well, unfortunately, BMW is diluting hte M brand. The advantage is that we should see updates almost immediately (as opposed to the sluggishness of past). Personally, I prefer the "special" factor that comes with the great ///M even if it means getting updates later on.

My dealer told me that the '01 M3 will be produced in much smaller numbers than years past...he actually said the numbers would be in the M5 neighborhood. But from what I hear, the M5 count is going up as we speak

Favorite colour is Carbonblack with Caramel Interior, although I would have liked to see a better choice on interior colour (eg lighter tans and creams)

which cars would I get in what order...
1) M5
2) S8 (as a more spacious cruiser for longer trips and winter driving)
3) E55 (maybe used for grocery shopping or lend to a friend to race with

Same preferences as most people here.

1) M5 - of course..

2) S8 - ~360 (?) BHP with AWD.. that has gotta be fun at the line.

3) E55 - a little too bland for my tastes, but would still be more fun than an XJR.

Agreed with Anzir.

Rumors of a twin-turbo S8 with 550 HP in '02 or '03 (this Month's Car & Driver or European Car, can't remember which)...

Mommy...
