Anybody know any good DIY videos or posts for removing the rear carpet in e39s? I need to get under there to see how bad the rusting underneath my car is. Trying to see if it’s gone through to the floor panel or not.

any thoughts, advice, etc. would be much appreciated!

you can get away with removing the rear seat and side trim panel to get a look, if you can't push the carpet away enough then the seat and center console will be next to remove.

otherwise i would just check it with an awl or a small drill bit to see if it solid. looks kinda iffy though, gl

It's not just the floor, which is gone, but the inner rocker structure, and the wheelhouse junction.
And what about the rear body section?
Pull the front and rear wheel liners and check all seams. This could turn out to be a big job. Another clue is the inside door seams.
