When the key is turned to the “on” position, a loud “chirp”, maybe 3-4 chirps sounds from under the dash. Ocassionally the chirp occurs while I’m driving…more chirps. More repetitions.
Service engine light comes on when key moved to “on” but disappears when running.
Any thoughts ?,

1.) Radar detector? Pull the lower dash panels and find the source?

2.) Sounds normal? The lights are supposed to all turn on with key on, engine off.

That is most likely your 'e-box' fan, which is briefly tested when you first start up and then comes on some time later when the ECU needs cooling.The bearing gets dry and they make a definite chirp noise! The air inlet for that fan is behind the glove box so the sound appears to come from behind the dash.
