If the ball joint has come out it is an easy fix. There's a circular spring that puts tension on the clamp, put that back in place first - you should be able to do it without any tools. Next put something soft like a towel on the floor and lay the mirror on the towel face down. Grab the mirror bracket and line up the ball with the socket and put as much weight into as needed - you can rotate the ball a little if needed and it will pop back into place.My mirror is fine, but it's popped out from the swivel ball. The stealership said they won't try to reconnect the ball and they want $600 to replace it! Any chance you can provide some tips on how to pop it back in without cracking the windshield or ruining the mirror? Thanks!
