Chicago-snowing like there is no tomorrow.<O

Got to work this morning fine, but later in the afternoon, it started snowing. I wasn't worried; it’s going to stop soon-yeah maybe a week from now!<?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shapetype class=inlineimg id=_x0000_t75 title="Stick Out Tongue" src="../ubb/tongue.gif" smilieid="6" stroked="f" filled="f" path="[email protected]@[email protected]@[email protected]@[email protected]@5xe" alt="" border="0" o<img></v:shapetype> :grrrrr:<v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><V
Anyways, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
7:30</st1:time> I left work and started out for the highway a quarter of a mile away for my nightly 1.5 hour commute. When I got to the on ramp, the car stops moving forward and it slowly creeps to the side. I made it about a quarter of the way and now I'm stuck. If I tried to go forward I risk putting the tail in the ditch. So I sat there thinking how stupid
I was for not listening to the weatherman. When I went out to assess the situation, I noticed that my rear tires were BALD and the 6 inches of snow was not plowed! I couldn't believe that I was so careless as to drive on bald tires. As cars passed me by to get on the highwayhmmm, I felt so ashamed to have put the beast in such a quandary:confused2. And what’s worse? My cell phone is almost out of battery. About 15 minutes later, 2 cars pulled over and offered to help. We tried everything to no avail. So finally we gave it 1 last try to back out of the ramp and we made it! Joey and 2 other guys-I owe you!:cheers:You guys stopped while everyone else passed on by. Now I'm at least off the ramp and back on the side streets, but still not moving. A while later a cop showed up do to my call for help, another nice guy. I asked him to help <v:shape id=_x0000_i1031 style="WIDTH: 17.25pt; HEIGHT: 11.25pt" alt="0" type="#_x0000_t75"><v:imagedata src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\vin\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image007.gif" o:href="http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/1zhelp.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape>by blocking the highway as my friend and I tried to push the car across the intersection and onto some asphalt. I finally got out of that intersection and returned to my work.

When I got home(3 hours later), I reflected on the incident and felt bad that I didn't even have a business card to give Joey when he asked. Worse, I didn’t even give him any cash which, I later realized, I had in my wallet. Joey and his buds- THANKS! I will have to find a way to repay this act of kindness.
I could have been in a worse situation tonight, but thanks to some random acts of kindness, I'm safely at home. Hope you guys made it home ok.
What have I learned? Get new tires before its too late. This weekend, new tires, any advise?<O

I just wanted to share my bad and good night in the windy city.<v:shape id=_x0000_i1032 style="WIDTH: 12pt; HEIGHT: 12pt" alt="0" type="#_x0000_t75"> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\vin\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image008.gif" o:href="http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/a_smil17.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape>:blabla:cherrsagai<O
