I've searched but can't seem to find a good answer. A few months back I got the dreaded high battery drain warning, and after some checking I found the driver's rear CAS module had failed. Pulled the fuse to disable CA and no more error but it's time to get this fixed. Are these a plug-and-play module or is there some integration required? The other 3 doors worked fine before I pulled the fuse. Here's one that I had on my ebay watch list.

Edit: Maybe what I need instead is the carrier handle here? I thought each door had a CAS module similar to the one above.

Found one on Ebay

Here's the one I got, to avoid having to get it painted, can I remove those star washers to remove the CA module? I just want to make sure before I start poking and prodding and potentially damage the module I bought it for.

I replaced my CA module and now I lost the whole option of opening the doors with just a touch. I think there is some kind of coding or else mine should have worked with just plug and play of the new module.

I spoke to Jim about this a few years back and he said that it may need to be coded but was not sure what software it would require :frown been dealing with this for 2 years now but it was a nice creature comfort to have.

That's a bummer to hear. I found your old thread from 2014 about it where you bought that module from Troy... interesting that he's now a "guest" member.

Was the module you replaced like this one? Hopefully since mine is limited to a particular door it would just be a swap.

There is definitely a coding or alignment that has to be done. Depending on software. Inpa would be to find module and sg coderen. Ista would be cl alignment in functions. I’ve done it with inpa. I haven’t don’t it with ista.

Not true. i've replaced two CA handles over the years. Both work and neither required any coding. Fixed power drain issue both times.
