In the process of installing my new aluminum ///M pedals, I needed to remove my gas pedal. Of the two or three threads and DIY that I found on the subject after lots of searching, they were ALL WRONG :nono:. I absolutely ruined my pedal because of what they said to do :grrrr:. After much frustration I ordered a new pedal for around $20 and decided I would do everyone a favor and show how this darn pedal connects to the car.
Overall it is a simple procedure: Pop latch behind pedal down, use a flat-head screwdriver to push from BEHIND on the two plastic catches while pulling up on the pedal. Then twist the pedal back on the upper hinge to remove. Voila!
Now to show with pictures.. :typing:
1) Pull the clip from behind down, it might take a bit of effort, and you have to really push it into the carpet for the clamp to clear enough to remove the pedal.
2) Push from behind with the object of your choosing. If you have enough extra limbs to do both at the same time then great. Otherwise you'll have to go one at a time.
3) Twist the pedal back to slide off the hinge
Hope this saves you the hassle I went through.. :byebye:
