I drive with "friction" tyres without studs(lived in arvidsjaur/piteå) for a few years and there`s no problem driving with unstudded tyres in snow, they`re as good or better than studded tyres in pure snow conditions. So no problem in northern sweden. Only conditions where the studded tyre is better is pure ice.
