I tried to search on my specific question but didn't find what i was looking for.

I am hoping to open the plenum up and clean/inspect for oil residue etc this weekend. My car has a Dinan Front strut Brace.

Although I have installed the brace on a couple of cars, i wanted to be 100% sure that the brace can be removed/installed while the car is on the ground (level ground of course)?

Also, what do you guys suggest I use to clean any residue inside the plenum?

The nuts used on the suspension mounts are single use, they are slightly squashed to create a crude lock nut.

When removing the strut brace either detatch one (or both) ends of the main brace from the mounts, or get a new set of nuts for the mounts.

Use brake cleaner, since it's cheaper and cleans extremely well. I buy the stuff by the case.

Alan

How about Carb Cleaner? Bad idea?
