I was of the knowledge that all E39s shared the same exact front fenders regardless of engine or body option, something I had also verified on RealOEM.
Due to a minor bender with my M5, I went fender hunting in a scrapyard for a used one. I was very happy to find one in Silbergrau from a 530d wagon and in fair condition BUT!
It is in fact different than the one on the M5. Particularly, it is missing the bracket that goes beneath the hood mount, the hood seal lip is shorter and most evident is the completely different shape of the top corner that joins the door bodywork with the hood itself.
Did I miss something or were indeed different fenders for the E39? Kinda very specific question, mostly due to curiosity.
