i am thinking about getting new wheels and am pretty sure i am going to go with the radenergie wheels. but i see that there are two models that look the same and cant tell the difference. the r10 is the diamond cut and the rs10 comes in silver, chrome or black. i cant tell what the difference is and why there is such a big price difference. i have searched both online and on the forum and can't find an answer. anybody know? also any advice about which wheels to go with?

The primary difference between the R10 and RS10 is that the RS10 comes with chrome lip and the R10 with polish lip. Also, R10s with Diamond Cut face is exclusive to Mercedes Benz. It may have changed recently and Diamond Cut R10s are now available to BMWs. Diamond cut is a higher quality finish than black, silver or chrome so that is basically the difference in price right there. Now, if you want Diamond Cut R10s with the chrome lip, like on my E63, it'll cost extra. HTH.

Here is the R10 in graphite (custom color) with polish lip. It's EuroCarFan's M5 and I know he's more than happy having me show it off. And, next to it are the RS10 in silver with the chrome lip. As you can see there is no design difference between the two.

One thing to consider is that polished lips are easier to fix if you ever curb them whereas chrome will be more difficult and more expensive to repair.

But isn't the upkeep much easier on a chrome lip as opposed to a polished one?

Probably. I know polish can get dull over time.

I have had chrome and polished lips on a few different cars. Chrome is 50x easier to maintain than polished. Polished looks great when new and if you consistantly mantain the wheels. Once the wheels get a bit dirty and you clean with even a bit of dirt, the polished becomes scrathed and then hard to get back to new looking.

Chrome is easy to wipe down and mantain looking new.

Yes, if you damage polished, it can be buffed out, but to look like new you should take apart the wheel.
