I'd like to start a thread for Denver general area independent mechs/techs- quality and trusted work at better than dealer prices is always a good thing...

I've had my share of crappy work so when you run into someone good, you share that information with other gearheads- 3zero3 in Wheatridge has been fantastic, they support just about any German car, a very qualified staff and even loaners. They've supported my 1000+hp 91 turbo for the last couple years and while I might not like getting some of the bad news, they have always been spot on with diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance. They also have a hell of a corner balancing and alignment shop and also pointed me in the right direction for a extended warranty on the M5.

Give Scott or Max a shout and tell them Anders with the "deepblue turbo" sent you.

Another killer shop for the hard core auto enthusiast is Gbox in Boulder, they build world class transmissions, differentials and LSD's, I haven't talked to them about what they can do for SMG's (yet), but they rebuilt my custom geared and cooled 6spd tranny as well as a custom Gard LSD setup on my blue beast.

As far as dealers go, Schomp has been pretty good, haven't had to do anything in depth but my limited experiences have been positive. I've heard good things about Murray on Colorado Blvd, but no personal experiences. For Porsche, I highly recommend Stevinson Imports on Broadway, they've gone above and beyond for me several times and developed some good friends from there.

Shops to stay away from... I mean No F'n way I'll take a car back there...ever.

Dart Auto on Monaco, they say they are premier on their website, but I'm a firm believer that torch cutting suspension pieces to install an exhaust just ain't right (thank God Im the kinda customer that likes to hang out), I have another buddy with a 911 turbo and 944 turbo S with similar experiences.

Eurosport on W. Union - horribly managed and ridiculous prices. How hard do you have to try to put a clutch on backwards, similar experiences with other guys (and a gal) as well.

Hope this post helps someone out... (and especially avoids some wallet and heartache).

Very useful info.

I advise to stay away from Murray. I use to work there and their service sales reps and techs are extremely overworked and underpaid. Because of that they have very high turnover. They treat their employees like crap and will offer the position to anyone who doesn't know better. They also use it to phase failing sales employees out. I use to work there as a Mercedes sales rep and they offered the position to me, I walked away from the company instead.

Their bodyshop is run separately and they do a pretty good job. They fixed up my M5 pretty good after a family member drove it into a set of concrete steps.

Anyone know of a good exhaust shop? I am looking to do muffler delete and the few places that gave me quotes would only build me a SS exhaust and charge me $400+.

I am also looking to do a muffler delete, let me know what you find. I keep getting some high quotes compared to guys in Cali who had it done for $200 and under.

Also what tips are you looking at?

Good call on Murray, that will save me some heartache, Schomp has been pretty good as far as dealers go. Let me ping some people on muffler/fabrication shops. I am pretty good friends with the Godfriedsons of the GT Racing fame (Porsche race body fabricators), they probably know someone.

As far as electronics or clear bra goes, I highy recommend Timothy and the gang at EAS on powers, they handle all my electronics and clear bra's
