De-badging side rub-rail

1033 2
I just received the Tire Rack summer catalog ("Inside Track"), which shows on pp. 18-19 a de-badged Carbon Black M5. There is no badge on the side rail or bumper, and there does not seem to be an indent where the badge fits. I actually called Tire Rack, where I was advised that the owner ordered a debadged car and it came that way. Is that correct? I thought only the trunk lid badge was omitted if you chose this "option".

Please refer to my 28 June 2000 post on the "Spoiler" topic. Go to

As I earlier stated, I ordered my Jet Black/Caramel All Leather car with the "Badge/Emblem Delete" option.

My car has no "M" or "5" script on the rear edge of the trunk lid. Nor do the front door side impact strips/molding have the recessed "M5" emblems. For this option, BMW apparently fits standard issue (read non-M5) 5-Series front door side impact strips.
