**UPDATE: The run has been moved to SUNDAY, 30 OCT**

Allright folks! Winter is upon us, so this may be the last run/get together for the year before the holidays, freezing temps, and our beasts are put into hibernation!

Did this last year and we had some great roads!

For all ///M5 & ///M6 (e39, E60, e63, etc) owners in the DC, VA, MD, and PA area that want to attend, I'll be organizing a meet, drive (w/ breakfast pit stop and lunch stop) through the Shenandoah Valley and West Virginia on Sunday, 30 October

This will be a one day affair, that will probably last approx 5 hours.

We will meet at 0845 am at Fairfax Corner Shopping Center (across from the Fair Oaks mall)
at the parking lot adjacent to the Rave Fairfax Corner Movie Theater (western side)

meet/start point address:
Rave Fairfax Corner 14
11900 Palace Way
Fairfax, VA, 22030

From the start point, we will depart 0900 am (sharp) and head out west on I-66 towards Front Royal. We will make a pit stop at the Apple House to grab some breakfast eats and to top off on gas (for those that need it). The Apple House is very well renowned for their doughnuts and I highly recommend getting some!

The Apple House
4675 John Marshall Hwy
Linden, Virginia 22642

After the Apple House, we will once again make our way to I-66 heading West, the onto I-81 South. Then we will break off for some back country roads into W. Virginia. We will stop for lunch in Wardensville, W. VA at the Lost Brewing Company and to top off on gas again.

address:
Lost Brewing Company
155 West Main Street
Wardensville, WV 26851

(If it's closed, then we'll just buy snacks at the gas station down the street)

From there we will make our way back, stop at Loves Truck stop for the end-point, and then everyone can be on their merry way!

**disclaimer: Driving will be brisk, but in no way reckless and safety is paramount!**

**Make sure your tires have air and enough tread on them, and bring a qt of 10w/60 oil as a spare - just in case**

**and I recommend you leave DSC ON...lol**

Here are some quick references for meet points and last year pics:

This will be great! I do need to figure out my tire situation before then though. Rear tires look almost like slicks and I am trying to decide on winter tires & tire storage or all-seasons. Any local help (chime-in) would be greatly appreciated!

Danconia, get yourself a pair of Contis or Michelins for tires. All season performance tires are not easy to come by, and non so far are made to fit the OEM M5 rims. Contis, despite what others say, outlast and out perform Michelins, but only by a margin (based on side by side numbers/comparisons). Michelins PS2s or Super Sport are good too, but don't expect to use them past 10k miles.

Best you can probably do is Contis DW for summer and rain as an all season-like tire. Check tirerack.com out. I also recommend Currys Auto Service in Chantilly for buying and mounting tires. Way cheaper than a dealer - they quoted me about $1500 for 4 wheels/mounting/balancing where as at BMW, I'd be paying over $2000! They specialize in BMWs and other Euro cars.

If the Beast is a daily driver, I will buy nice performance tires and buy a set of winter tires for the winter but if the Beast is not my daily driver, I ll buy PS2.
