You should provide a little more info so that people here can understand the issues. It sure looks ike your battery is toast - Maybe it's the alternator. Who knows? There isn't enough info. Codes tend to point in a direction, not specifically point to a component.

1. What year and mileage for the car.
2. What are the symptoms - i.e. what is happening that makes you think that there is a problem?
3. What code reader is producing these codes?

4. Do you really have 387K km on an E60 M5?

FOR ONE INDIVIDUAL, IT WAS THE pressure differential sensor for code 27DA. It could also be the aux vacuum pump. Here is a post referring you to page 18 in the engine management doc posted on this site.

Thanks gmak. My car is an 09 with 84k ( according to the dash odometer). It usually happens when it's real hot or initial start up.. Some times it clears by turning the car off and then on. Other times I use the bmwwhat app with the icarly adapter to reset.

It goes into limp mode. 4,500 rpm limit. Engine malfunction and increase emissions on the screen.

After reading it does happen more often after I get to 1/4 tank, initially I thought it was maybe bad fuel. I don't have DIS or ISTA. What else can I do with out resorting to the dealer?

Code 2B57 is one of those "Attention" codes. It has a second code to back it up - likely the 27DA.

Here is a thread about the 2796 code. It has something to do with evacuation of fumes. Everyone suggests running a DIS or ISTA test first to make sure that that is the issue
why does my reader say BSD Generator? And btw when I check my oil ( holding button to reset) it takes a while(!5-10mns) to get a reading.

Ok, replaced the differential ( map sensor)pressure sensor according to a previous post. Installed reset ECU and it triggered limp( same code) mode on the next time I started her. That part was relatively inexpensive, trying not to start throwing parts at it.

Update, my issue turned out to be a bad relay on the vacuum pump circuit. Ended up taking it to the dealer to help with the diagnostics ($178). Computer showed intermittent power failure. They wanted $500 to pull the glovebox and change the relay. If that didn’t work they wanted to change the vacuum pump for another $700. I bought the relay installed it myself. I also removed the vacuum pump cleaned it with some CRC Intake Valve cleaner and cleaned the connector with contact cleaner. 90 days and 1500 miles later all is great. Thanks for the help and info I received.
