When cold it seems that my clutch just does not want to let me smoothly start off. It's as if it engages and disengages until I am rolling fast enough. It only does this until it is up to temp. I live in Jersey, so it is pretty cold. Anyone know what could cause this? Just curious before I go to the dealer? I have late 06 build M5, in 09' they replaced SMG pump and repaired vanos, otherwise it has been fine.

It did not do that last year. W/O full knowledge of how the SMG works, it is hard to picture why it does this.

Mine does this most mornings when cold.. I have a 100m drive out of my road... quite slow with some speed humps.. and it surges a little.
The engine runs a little coarser/faster for the first few mins at tickover .. once settled down its fine for me.
(its similar to the reversing slowly experience.. but forwards)
