Today my car computer put up "Check Side Lights." The Peake code is 18-63 which is "Control unit self-test, Safety Concept master check." Here's what I've noticed, the corner driver blinker in the front headlight stays constant orange when I just have the angel eyes on. This light should not be on constant but when I put on the low beams it goes out like it should. The bulb is fine and the blinker works fine too. I did put in Hella Euros, Angel iBrights Ver2, and Solaris bulbs a few weeks back but no problems until today.

Any idea what is causing this?

I tried that, put the stock orange bulb back in and it does the same thing. I even reconnected everything and no change. I'm going to take it to the stealer on Thursday. I hate taking it there but I can't figure this one out.

Yikes, please dont take it to the stealer yet, we might be able to figure this one out.

You just bought those headlight assemblies from Matt at Umnitza, maybe he will chime in and give some advice if he has run across this problem before?

Question? when you turn off the car do the turn signal bulb completely turns off or it just goes dim? Are your tail lights working properly? how about your angel eyes are they working ok or one is dim?
Make sure all your wiring on your headlights are right... (as i believe it's just a wiring issue) ...

All the lights front and back work fine. My Angel iBrights work just fine too. When the car is off all lights are off. The driver turn signal is on constant when just the parking lights (Angel iBrights) are on, but it is a dim orange. When I then turn on the low beams the orange bulb goes out and it works fine but the "check side lights" warning is always on. I'll check the Angel iBrights when I get home but I don't think that is the problem. As mentioned above, I don't understand the Peake code it gave.

Vason,

Make sure the plugs are in correctly since you upgraded to euro (did you change or update any wiring harness when you installed the lights?)... i can't find any sort problem except the plugs and wiring...As mentioned above the check fog lights can come from a different source...keep us posted...

Did you say you tried switching the bulb out? If not, try your stock turn signal bulbs...maybe something weird is going on with one of the silver coated turn signal bulbs you installed with the new lights.

Also...it doesn't have anything to do with the little pins (sometimes offset, sometimes straight across) at the base of the turn signal bulbs?

Anything new to report on this problem?

I am having a similar issue with my v2.0's.

Just left a message at iBrite too but thought I'd see what your fix was.

My info;

iBrites 2.0 work fine. Passenger side signal indicator does not light up with parking lights on. All other lights are working.

Thought it was a signal bulb so replaced the bulb and socket just in case. Same symptom as above. Pulled and reconnected all light fittings, no luck. Unplugged iBrite on passenger side and signal lights up fine just like it's supposed to. (Put old one back in and it's good too.)

Do I have a bad iBrite on one side or was there another fix?

in recent German cars, if a light is not working properly, a substitute light (adjacent) will take its role. Kinda safety issue.

Having a problem getting them to return my call. Left 4 phone messages and two emails and have yet to even hear back from them. At the time of initial contact about the problem, I had only had them 30 days. I've been courteous and professional in all of my correspondance.

Not happy. :grrrrr:
