Hey guys, I've owned an e34 535i in the past, absolutely loved it, and currently daily an e39 525i which I'm also a huge fan of. Consequently I'm becoming a huge 5 series nerd and would like to know more about the chassis evolution between these two generations.
I know a little about the different engines offered but not much about the differences in chassis and suspension design other than the e39 uses aluminum control arms(right?) and a rack and pinion with the i6 models.
What other changes were made to the e39 chassis? Links to info are appreciated.

E39 received aluminum control arms, aluminum knuckles, and aluminum shocks/struts front and rear. The rear also switched from a semi trailing arm to what BMW calls "Integral Link" Suspension. The rear subframe was changed to aluminum as well. Some of the I6 cars also had aluminum calipers.
