Hello

I want to place a sachs 765 on my s38 engine.
those pressure plates can hold a lot of power.
but I dont want to place a ceramic of copper pad clutch.(because they are destroying the clutch and flywheel)

I have searched a lot for other friction material and found out the kevlar is good.
but here is a new material carbotic.(I believe this is the best material for high power cars and street driving use)

I found post of a member that have build a special clutch with jim berry (race clutch)in australia.
but I tried to fhone him and on my mails I get not a answer.(from belgium)
I tried to get in contact with the m5 board member to.

are there here members from australia that are living in the are of brisbane.
maybey I can pay you for tried to get in contact with Jim berry.

because I know for sure that this man is knowing what a clutch is and can do.

thank you

best regards

Hello

thank you for the info,I was not aware from a australian forum.
the problem is,I live in a little monkey country.
with only high taxes and bad roads.

I contacted a good company that makes clutches, and when I asked for other friction material they have never heard of carbotic.

for some specialist you have to go to the other side of the world.

I really believe that this man know what he is talking about.

I will post that there

thank you

gpower is a good company, but to find good tuning parts for older cars you must think global.
there is a big change there will be a good clutch builder in belgium or other near by country

but, when I search for the best clutch material,I found carbotic.
and on the google search there is only one man that build custom clutches with that material.
and the feedback I found from him on the net is fantastic.
I found a post that somebody have spoken with Jim that he could rebuild a original m5 clutch that it can take 700 bhp with a organic clutch.
I know for sure that when I use a single clutch from Jim with carbotic friction material my clutch will not slip.
no need for a tilton for my use.

hello

yes you are correct,I have mailed with kevin keller from this company.
I can order the parts I need, but there is a other problem.

I can not just take a oem clutch and place carbotic friction material on with a stronger pressure plate.
the springs in the disch must be a lot stronger to.

A clutch is something tricky

I have tried to find specialist here but when I was looking after carbotic, high power cars, street use, good grip and no slip,I am always comming out with Jim berry

driving with a good strong clutch is every bmw drivers dream.without worries of slip.

for that I will go to the other side of the planet. ;-)

Why can't they make new springs for you? I know they specialize in trucks but... Never mind I know what springs you mean now. Give me until tomorrow I know another company.

They are closed now and I will be on the road tomorrow so I will just give you the info.
Bully Performance/Racing/competition Clutch
They actually already make M5 clutches but each clutch is made by hand so they can do what you want. They don't offer a carbotic but I did check the button size from my second link. and it is the same as stage 4. Anyway send them mail they are good guys to talk to, this is where I planned on getting my clutch when the time came. I am sure they would make you what you want.

the problem is not only the stronger springs.
they must have info about the sachs unit.(the size must be perfect)
so the disc they make work perfect with that unit.
a little not good=less grip

that is the problem,I like to go and buy something from somebody that have done this before.
and where I found a lot of good feed back on the internet.

so I am 100% I invest in something that works

thank you sailor

I will send them a mail, maybey they will work with carbotic.(or maybey I can send them the plates)
I do not want to destroy my clutch and flywheel with a type of clutch disc.
stage 4 with a 5 pad carbotic would be perfect set up.

Jim Berry Clutches
Address: 26 Gladys St, Greenslopes QLD 4120
Phone:(07) 3847 9999

that phone number you will need to add 61 for the Australia country code, and leave off the 0

so you would dial 61 7 3847 9999

I dont see an email address, I will call him tomorrow and get it, and post up.

googling him down here,it looks like he is the man for Skyline and GTR race/ road clutches.

Hi Manualshifter, Jim did the 5 button carbotic clutch for Yoda. At the time he was doing all the Porsche Cup race cars. Good to see some Aussies on the board. MIB.

Think you might be searching in the wrong country for expertise. Pretty sure it was first patented in Canada but I could be wrong. Anyway the buttons are very easy to get here depending on size. Try this American company for supply. As far as I know you save your disc and replace the buttons.
Friction Materials
or
F.C.I.
Has anyone tried these? Looks like a great product but not sure if it applies to E39s?
