So i followed this link in replacing my rear brake pads:
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60-m5-e61-m5-touring-discussion/128000-diy-brake-pad-change.html
-- very very helpful link by the way.. took about 45 mins for both rear brakes (did it in my condo garage).. that damn retainer clip is kind of a pain to take off (i feel like i'm gonna break it!)
I also changed out the micro filter since that was due too.

Now that both are done, I went to go reset my SEL warnings according to these directions:
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e6...et-oil-microfilters-service-etc-pictures.html

I even put the key in the ignition just incase... and push the start button until all the "idiot" lights came on..

I pushed the odometer reset button right away when the "Service" warning came up with the triangle..

I probably kept the button pushed for 1 min.. and nothing! The seatbelt warning came on, and then the time/temperature mode.
I tried probably 5 times, and same thing.. nothing happens!!

do I need an OBDII tool or something?? sooo annoying!

thanks in advance

works perfectly!

Oh, and I called the BMW in Chicago, and they wanted $500 for rear pad install!!!
I got the OEM pads from AutoHausAZ.com and the sensor for $84!!!
