Hello all,
I'm trying to find out if there is an upgrade for my 02 M5 w/M-Audio's Alpine factory CD changer to a CD/DVD/MP3 Changer? If so, what is the model number for the changer. Also, the subus do really suck. Any good single subs you suggest?

The required goal for now is to Play CD/DVD/MP3s and keep the standard head unit.
The optional goal is to upgrade my subs to a better sounding SUB.

Here is something i found but don't know if this would be a plug and play or...

Thank you,

I believe that on our cars this is a very difficult proposition. The control logic may work but the ability to gain a digital output out of a non-factory changer is the crux of the problem. I've not seen a succesful work around to this problem.

Thanks

The only way to "upgrade" the changer is to use aftermarket with an adaptor. Some brands of adaptors are PIE, Soundgate, Blitzsafe. You cannot just plug in a non-BMW branded changer without an adaptor even though the factory changer is Alpine.
