Can the M5 front seating surfaces can be removed from the seat base and electronics? Are the seating surfaces "polarized" to only fit on one side of the car? I realize the seat base is. The purpose for swapping would be to move the driver's side upholstery to the passenger side and vice versa. This would balance wear by putting high wear outer bolsters toward the console. It would also move the higher wear driver's seat to the passenger side to give it a rest. This would essentially balance wear and allow you to get almost double life.

One person on another forum claims this is a 3 hr job and that the foam in the seats is drilled on both sides to allow electrical wiring on either side. Looking for some confirmation or guidance.

Any opinion appreciated.

You've got me curious...

My fat *ss has been wearing the outside bolster, despite my best efforts to gingerly ingress each time.

If we could locate some instructions, this is a task I'd be willing to attempt.

Here's hoping for a guinea pig!

Interesting idea. :3: Does that mean that we could then blame the butt dimple, pocket or that ugly crease in the seat on the passenger :hihi:

Regards,
Terk.
