Hello M5Board members,

When I insert the key into the ignition, there is a loud buzzing sound emitted from the rear speakers even with the radio off. With the radio on, the buzzing is still there but not as loud.
Does anyone know what this is? Is it a cut wire? A faulty DSP amp?

I do not know where to begin in diagnosing the problem and would like some assistance before I go off purchasing parts.

Please help. Thank you.

Most likely the speaker itself is bad.

To troubleshoot you'd need to disconnect that speaker from the amp output wires, and swap them around and try the same speaker with another (amp output).

Buzzing is a bit of a generic term - does it sound like an electronic buzz (some wires may have frayed and crossed, or electronic components are bad), or like it's wizzing / crackling / snapping? Speakers, especially those in cars, get old and can crack (surrounds can go, glue can give up, etc).
