If I understand correctly, the molding on the 2001 will be black regardless of the car color. I am wondering if the pieces can be ordered from the 2001 5 series to snap onto the M5. Is this a difficult or expensive process or just enjoy the balck moldings as they come.

Thanks for the info

If its important to you to get body colored molding, its probably way cheaper to remove, paint, and replace the black ones.

Keep the black moldings. I think they give the car character. Additionally, that's the color they should be. If something banged into them, no paint comes off. And then there's the fading problem that some run into (depends on painter). Especially with titanium silver. Different surface, different results. If you demand the color moldings, they do not come painted. Your local BMW dealership will just ship them off to get painted unless they have their own collision shop.
