Alright guys, here we go again. Last week i worked on this Beautiful Interlagos Blue M5.
Ended up being 13 Hours of Non stop Polishing. By the time I left the owners driveway that night I was not able to even Feel my body.

A little Backstory: I actually owned this car before, bought it with 23,xxx miles. sold it with 25,xxx. Barely got to enjoy the car. Felt nice seeing her again haha lovelove
This is a Manual Interlagos blue, with no body work at all. Car is mint but needed some hard work after all the previous detailers had only damaged it.
Forgive me for not taking great pictures, worked alone all day. Had so much to do. Went to the customer at 6 am, did not leave until about 10pm that night.

Here we go:

Once arriving, I was greeted with a drive way full of German monsters, oh yea.. and a Jaguar.

Dirty exhaust

Getting straight into the Detail Prep process

As always, start with the wheels. Sprayed some Sonax wheel cleaner-let it work the break bust. Then brought out the wheel bucket and brushes and started working. Used Degreaser on tires in order to remove existing tire shine. (none visible)
7 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0699.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0699.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0699.jpg"/></a>
Don't have a great after yet of the wheels, forgot to take one but many pictures to come after I wax them during the finishing touches.

Moving on to some touches before wetting the whole car and starting the body wash process

8 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0701.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0701.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0701.jpg"/></a>

Continued and washed the whole car. After washing and drying, it was time for some clay. ran through 2 clay bars. The car had been sitting outside a lot. M3 was in the Garage

Quick shot of the clay this is after the heavy contamination was removed 2nd clay piece:

Some Quick before shots, loads of buffer trails, swirls, scratches. RID's everywhere. you name it, this car had it !! Did not think i would be able to finish that night, knew it would be super over time haha.

This one was bad !! Enthusiast Details to the rescue

18 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0912.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0912.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0912.jpg"/></a>

Some bigger scratches throughout with a side of swirls

19 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0743.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0743.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0743.jpg"/></a>

Those small water marks would not come off very easy for some reason, new one there. oh yea, more swirls

20 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0742.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0742.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0742.jpg"/></a>

Last one before compounding started: Test spot obviously revealed compound was needed.

22 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0761.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0761.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0761.jpg"/></a>

23 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0767.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0767.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0767.jpg"/></a>

Compounded and Polished

24 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0759.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0759.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0759.jpg"/></a>

Working on the worst part of this car, The Hood. Hood was in awful shape, someone had tried to apply wax while car had a bit of dirt on it. Sorry for the nonexistent 50/50 shots, no good camera and not enough time.

25 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0788.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0788.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0788.jpg"/></a>

Fully compounded and polished. Trying to take advantage of the sun while its still there. lighting in the garage did not fit very well.

26 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0795.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0795.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0795.jpg"/></a>

Fun part now.. I have a 3 coat wax system for darker cars which works amazing.. check out my previous results on this RS5

27 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_8337.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_8337.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_8337.jpg"/></a>

Notice this same M5 but back when I owned it in the driveway

29 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_8338.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_8338.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_8338.jpg"/></a>

30 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_8323.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_8323.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_8323.jpg"/></a>

Ok enough Audi, everyone wants the M5 back at this point Im sure

Here we go with the waxing step, 2nd coat of wax. Not many pictures of first coat application
Keep in mind these are 2 different brand waxes, but they work great together to provide maximum shine and long lasting protection.

31 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0807.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0807.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0807.jpg"/></a>

32 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0846.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0846.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0846.jpg"/></a>

While 2nd coat is drying to a haze, I started with some final touches.(no other choice, was running out of time)

Exhaust polishing
34 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0810.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0810.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0810.jpg"/></a>

36 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0817.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0817.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0817.jpg"/></a>

After picture on a wheel:
37 <a href="http://s668.photobucket.com/user/mad32sk8/media/IMG_0831.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv48/mad32sk8/IMG_0831.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0831.jpg"/></a>

Process taken to get it that way besides wash.. Waxed it, then applied a sling free tire shine. came out looking magnificent.

Tire shine 50/50

Alright, Ill reveal some more haha. Wasn't too detailed because i was limited on time while typing this up.

After doing a test spot, I figured that both compound and polish was needed to reach the 95% correction desired.
I had to use quite heavy correcting compound in order to get these results. Decided to go with Meguiars M101 compound. One of the best on the market to date. I finished off with M205 polish.
I compounded on speed 5-6 due to heavy correction needed, using the Flex 3401 DA Polisher. One of the best tools for heavy corrections.
The followed up with M205 polish, started on speed 5 lowered to speed 4 on the last 2 section passes.

what about interior/leather? I badly need detail work on a couple of my vehicles so please let me know your rates.
Text/Call me at (646) 470-9343 or E Mail [email protected] for exact rates. Tell me your goals, do you want full paint correction, light swirl removal, 1 step polish. If you're not familiar with that, I can explain further.

I did basic interior on this car, I basically vacuumed Wiped interior down and Used an air compressor to get into some jambs with a combination of brushes. Owner asked to only do Exterior, I included that in the package as an extra.

For interiors when I do full interior work, I start off by removing the mats, shampooing the mats vacuuming. Interior cleaner/seat shampoo to remove dirt, oil, and light jean dye. I have a system of pads and brushes I use in order to get the job done the least aggressive way.
After I dress up the seats with leather conditioner, apply a UV protectant coating on the dashboard. Clean windows. Of course clean off vents and any other areas that need attention. Rarely I spot clean headliners.

Thanks, been reading about that combo especially m101. Wow so even with such a powerful fast working compound it took you 13 hours.... Can't imagine how long it would take me. I was planning on also using the nanoskin to save some time.

Yes even with a fast working compound it took a very long time. I was even using Meguiars Microfiber cutting pads wich have the closed cell technology in order to get a bit more heat for correction and a Flex 3401 which is the go to DA tool for heavy correction for all quality detailers.
Doing another Interlagos blue M5 this week. Been nothing but ///M's lately for me. Haha
Enjoy and feel free to text me or e mail me any detailing questions. I'm happy to answer them.
