You'll need to keep scouring the classifieds, ebay and breakers yards/BMW parts specialists, in the USA and internationally !
The last set I sold were a couple months ago now, used but in excellent condition and the sale was completed within a few hours of them being posted. The quickest set I sold after posting for sale was around 25 minutes!
It's been well over two years now since any new batches of these wheels were available, one set of the last batch went to Malberto above
Here's the thread you need to keep checking in addition to the above;
Those ACS wheels are my all time favorite and period correct for this automobile.
I have a standing WTB thread asking for a set in 19" for E39 M5 but so far I have been able to find any except for one set in the EU.
I was reluctant to purchase them since they were $8200 after shipping and currency conversion, I am hoping now with the USD/GBP & USD/EUR having better conversion they may become more in line with what I am willing to pay.
Malberto & Iconoclast - The actual wheels SidekickChuck has on his car in case you aren't aware, are customized items. He's had new much wider lips and thinner back barrels and once all fitted back up, give this look. OEM Type 2 Racing ACS wheels don't look as good as these as the lips are much smaller. These wheels in 19 inch sizing and E39 fitment are quite rare, but do come up 'semi' often and usually, you'll find them already customised to however the current owner wanted them. Not many 'OEM' sets come up for sale, but again, every now and again they do. Also, every single set I've seen has been much much lower priced than the equivalent of $8200 USD! that's just a beyond insanely ludicrous price! Last couple sets I've seen were around £1200-1600 so 'currently' with the exchange rate much more favourable to the US Dollar, that's around $1550-$2100. From the UK, shipping to the US would be 'around' the £180-250 level. I've sent many sets of 19 inch wheels to the USA and the shipping price does vary with the level of insurance required and sizing/weight.
I do like these Type 2 Racing ACS wheels as well, this set is similar to Chuck's above and they do look fantastic
However, given more enthusiasts and you both want them as well, they'll be too common for me
When the Stanceworks site is operational and as slow as a tired snail, check the wheel listings there as sets do come up relatively often !
Correction: I am using the same barrels as they came from ACS. Just extended the outer lips out 1" all around.
As to the question of size and offset, Im pretty sure I didnt do the math correctly (as specified in my signature). So I am not sure on the offsets, but the sizes are 19x9.5F 19x10.5R.
thanks for the head's up. i appreciate the information. i found a set in germany but the guy wants way too much. i will continue searching and waiting.
Iconoclast - There's a set for $1950 plus $300 shipping to the USA, a total of $2250 delivered. They're 19 inch, E39 fitment and offsets, so 8.5x19 ET15 front and 9.5x19 ET21.5 rears. Here's the Stanceworks advert 19" AC Schnitzer Type II rennsport (8.5/9.5) - StanceWorks
I think that's a good price and later you can have the centre's refinished to be absolutely perfect and any colour too !
Could you provide details ? which wheels are they? the sizing, wheel barrel and lip widths, offsets etc. Also, is that an anodised lip or a powdercoated ?
For summer I'm running 18" BBS RG-Rs, which I had refinished in chrome shadow (stock M5 wheel color) and added BMW centercaps too. The look good to me, not aftermarket looking (always a goal for me in any mod), and are considerably lighter and stronger than stock
And using the OE 18s as safeties if the car falls:
