340 HP and 6-speed manual. Supposedly outhandling the Porsche Boxster S and Cayman S on the track, whichif it is true would be outstanding.

I like very much! If the M5 has that similar stance, I'll definitely buy one in a few years.

If you're talking about the new F10 M5, it might have a meaner stance. I don't think it'll disappoint in any respect whether it's from it's stance to the sweep of the roofline to the quad tailpipes!

The interview with Dr Segler was pretty neat - it's not very often one can get that close and personal with the managing director of a world class leading car division. He seems very personable which is awesome! Thanks Gustav for the interview and thanks to Dr. Segler for the encouraging words! :byebye:

Any idea on price yet?
Jalopnik had it quoted by somebody as starting at $45,000 which seems pretty inexpensive. I thought it was going to be very exclusive/limited production, which probably means a big big dealer markup over MSRP.

I never really liked the 1 series styling, but I really like the stance of this guy. I could see this becoming one of those real driver's cars like the old M Coupe. 340 hp seems a little light these days but it should be tons of fun anyway; plus a quick tune should take care of that little problem.

The M division is exciting. The 1 series M is not for me however. It is not substantially superior to the 135i IMHO!
I'm very interested to see a positive & forward attitude from the interview. Pleasure to see style in communication.
Currently the M3 is for me but I have never sold a car purchased new.
Too difficult to part with them. The F10 M5 is intruiging. Meanwhile looking/studying at CPO E60 M5s.

Now as much as i like the 1 series M ,and imagine it would be a very fun to drive car,i can't help but think that it could have been more powerful if it wasn't for the fact that the extra power would've made it as fast/faster than the M3.

The other thing i find troubling is how diluted the brand has become.I mean its now acceptable in BMW to put the same engine with the same output (as the 335is) in a car, and call it a day.Which indicates that the F10 could suffer from the same fate by getting exactly the same engine output as the X5/X6 M. which would really be a big turn-off .

dont think m3 owners would be too happy if this was quicker than the M3. I wouldn't.
