BINNACLE SWOP

I have just obtained a MPH binnacle for my LHD E39 B10 V8,has anyone changed
the Binnacle on their Alpina? if so how do you go about it.
Is it a DIY job or should I go to a BMW specialist.
Any help would be appreciated.??????

Re: BINNACLE SWOP

I got mine done at a BMW dealer the other day - it is only a 30 minute job ( it probably only takes them 5 minutes to do and 25 minutes to prepare the bill )

It's a very straightforward DIY job. You can find instructions here.

Actually, Alpina have been pretty good about ( once I had contacted Germany ). They have an arrangement with VDO ( who made the binnacle ) to fix any faulty ones for free. All ( !?! ) I had to do was get the POD to the them - they have even sent me a temporary one to put in my car while VDO fix mine ( this has so far taken 4 weeks and counting, but hey, you get what you pay for ). By the way, how do you find the Scooby compares to the B10 3.3 ?

The scooby is working out really well - it is on par with my M5 performance wise. Nothing has come close to the ALPINA in terms of ownership. But the scooby is fun.
