I want to change my interior to CF and found the overlay kit from bimmian. They claim that it is the best since it is laid over the OEM interior and is reasonably priced compared to other alternatives which gets up to like 3k. I was wondering if anyone has ever bought the $500 kit and how it looks. Does it look OEM? do you see any gaps where the wood is exposed? Pictures would be awesome. Thanks

I agree that it's the best option for that look. Since it's a thin sheet, it installs over the OE trim to make a DIY fairly simple. The fit is solid on these kits and looks just like a full replacement once installed. It's also fully reversible in case you need to turn the car back to stock.

I was looking at the one on Bimmian.com and it says its an 8 piece kit. I believe in my car there is a wood bit surrounding my ashtray area which is not included in the picture on the site. Is there a different kit for 2008 and above?

Do any parts like the idrive knob need to be removed for this install?
