Apple CarPlay Activation

What is Apple CarPlay?
Apple CarPlay works via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (no need to plug in wires!) and it lets you connect your iPhone to your BMW, so you can enjoy a variety of iOS apps on the BMW display. This is not a true screen mirroring solution, but Apple CarPlay is as close as it gets to screen mirroring - it lets you use Apple Maps for navigation and traffic, access iTunes and send text messages! More functions will be added over time by Apple/BMW.

Compatibility:
If your vehicle is already equipped with NBT EVO ID5 or ID6, than we can activate for you Apple CarPlay remotely. For remote activation you will need to have ENET cable and windows-based laptop.

If your vehicle is not equipped with NBT EVO ID5 or ID6, no worries! We can provide you with everything that you will need to install NBT EVO retrofit in your car. Depending on the configuration of your specific car, you may need to replace only head unit or head unit together with the display (replacement of iDrive touch controller is optional). For more information on the NBT EVO retrofit in your specific car, please see this link and email us with the VIN of your car.

Remote Activation:
Bimmer Retrofit is proud to present that we now offer quick and simple activation of Apple CarPlay.

Activation is done entirely over the internet - all you need is ENET cable and windows-based laptop. We will take care of the rest!

do you have a step by step guide on how to do it ?
You are inquiring about Apple CarPlay retrofit for which vehicle?
This post was in regards to activating Apple CarPlay on an NBT EVO system.
There is no step-by-step guide - we do the activation remotely.

That said, we also offer Apple CarPlay Retrofit for NBT: https://www.bimmerretrofit.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=62&product_id=122
Retrofit for CIC will be coming this summer.
