Very interested in this but what about the other wiring stuff to make the bixenon work with the high beams and adjusters?
There are two ways to set up the bi-xenon to my knowledge. You can plug your factory high beam connector into the new projector or you can buy a pigtail from local parts store and splice it into your factory harness. I spliced mine in so when i turn on my high beam both the original light comes on and the new hid high beam comes on.

The adjusters can be found on ebay and bimmerzone sells aluminum ones.

I'm interested, but from all my research it seemed like upgrading the ballasts wasn't really necessary. Thoughts? This is a pretty decent deal though. I guess you could look at it as getting the ballasts for $50.

Of course, none of this solves the problem of me trying to track down a set of bakeable lights, and now I probably have all you turds in this group buy to compete against too. :D

When I originally upgraded my bulbs only one came on and the other flickered. I contacted TRS assuming the bulb was defective, they told me my old ballasts were not powerful enough for the new bulbs and they should be replaced. Installed the new ballasts and never had another problem.

Will this work for a 2001 530 with factory halogens? If so, I'm in.

Absolutely 100% in. Been putting this off for far too long, and now that my adjusters are broken it's the perfect time to do this.

The ballasts and bulbs are not required for retrofit, but they make a big difference.
The group buy is package deal.

Guys

Why do this in parts? The difference is not a lot of money (relatively speaking) so start with all new, matching components. Most of us buy a car and change all the fluids so we have a known reference point. Same here, IMHO. If an issue arises, it won't be because the components are mismatched.

We need 7 more enlightened members (pun intended!).

Jerry
