hello all,

have a question about the mirrors tilting down when the car is put in reverse. I took delivery of the car a couple days ago and I thought I remembered both side mirrors tilting down when the car is put in reverse. It seems that now only the passenger mirror tilts down, and thats only if the mirror select switch is switched to select the driver side mirror. Is this an electrical quirk ??

Anyone else experience this ?

Thanks !

I am amused at many of the questions appearing on this message board. Most of them can be answered by a simple reading of the complete instruction manual which comes with the car. It is printed and available just for that reason.

I realize that the answer to my question might be in the manual, what i neglected to do was mention that I am not in possession of the manuals yet as they were not available when the car was picked up.

Thanks though for the reply about the switch, this solves my dilemma !

The passenger mirror can be locked in the up position by flicking the mirror selector switch to the passenger mirror position. As I rembember, the mirror will tilt up even when in reverse when one slides the switch to the pass. side. No need to come out of reverse to set up the mirror. This is in the manual for my 540/6.
